No evidence Joe Rogan said he won’t vote for Trump | Fact check

Editor’s note: Shortly after this story was published on Nov. 4, podcaster Joe Rogan announced he was endorsing former President Donald Trump.
An Oct. 29 Threads post (direct link, archive link) claims podcaster Joe Rogan made an announcement related to the 2024 presidential election.
“Joe Rogan says he will not be voting for (former President Donald) Trump after having him on the podcast,” reads the post.
Another version of the claim circulated widely on X, formerly Twitter.

There is no evidence Rogan made such a statement against Trump. This was further confirmed late on Nov. 4, when Rogan endorsed Trump.
The claim came days after Trump appeared on Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
During the interview, Trump referenced his endorsement from Elon Musk and told Rogan he “should do the same thing” because “you’re not a Kamala person.”
Rogan laughed but didn’t directly respond to the quip and attempted to redirect the discussion back to tariffs.
But as of the date this post was made, Rogan hadn’t announced he’s not voting for Trump. The podcast host made no such statement in any of his social media posts following his conversation with Trump, nor do transcripts show he made such a statement in subsequent podcast episodes. There are likewise no credible news reports about such a statement from Rogan. At one point in an Oct. 30 episode of his show, Rogan referred to his interview with Trump and said he “(doesn’t) think he’s the monster that everybody thinks he is.”
Rogan endorsed Trump late in the day Nov. 4.
Additionally, Trump hasn’t addressed any such announcement on Truth Social – which he’s done numerous times in the past in response to other high-profile figures supporting his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Fact check: No, CBS hasn’t done exit poll showing 25% of Republicans voting for Harris
Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, also appeared on the podcast’s Oct. 31 episode. Rogan made no statement about not supporting Trump in that episode either.
Rogan did, however, say the Democrats’ decision to select Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee without having a primary “should be really concerning to people” and concurred with Vance at various points in their conversation, as USA TODAY reported.
Rogan also invited Harris to appear on the podcast, but he did not agree to the Harris campaign’s terms that he travel to the vice president and only conduct a one-hour interview instead of his requested three hours.
“My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being,” Rogan said in an Oct. 29 X post. “I really hope we can make it happen.”
Rogan spoke in support of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. when he was still running as a third-party candidate, but Rogan later said his comments weren’t meant to be viewed as an endorsement.
USA TODAY has debunked an array of claims related to endorsements in the presidential race, including false assertions that the Heritage Foundation and the IRS endorsed Harris and that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon endorsed Trump.
USA TODAY reached out to the user who shared the post for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
PolitiFact and Lead Stories also debunked the claim.
